E' scomparso (26 Settembre 2008) uno degli attori statunitensi più famosi da oltre 50 anni, Paul Newman !
Nel 1952 si iscrive all'Actor's Studio di New York. Aiutato da un aspetto straordinario (leggendari i suoi occhi azzurri), si fa notare e nel 1953 debutta on Broadway in Picnic . After being subjected to the rivalry of his counterparts James Dean and Marlon Brando, who systematically blew roles, debuted with The Silver Chalice that brings him some luck. I swear I never will play a period film: Oath. Will have to wait two years to break down, with the famous Somebody Up There Likes Me .
Newman was an actor, director and American film producer.
with writer Aaron Edward Hotchner, in 1982 he founded "Newman's Own, a food company specializing in organic products whose proceeds (more than 250 million dollarivengono used for charitable purposes umanitari ed educativi. Con il PEN American Center, la Newman's Own ha finanziato peraltro sino al 2006 un premio annuale di 20.000 dollari riservato al cittadino statunitense che abbia più coraggiosamente difeso il "primo emendamento" della costituzione statunitense, relativo alla libertà di espressione, di culto e di stampa.
