Black & White photos are and remain my favorites. In a world where the colors can amaze and dazzle with their roaring color, the photographs in B & N may appear "out of fashion" for someone or uninteresting. But a picture in B & N has an impact that, very often, a color photo did not: the depth of blacks who go to crear shadows and infinite shades of gray that make up the picture, can give the photograph what 'magnet effect that attracts the eye ... and not keeping it glued finiresti ever to watch! The emotion di un bianco e nero, magari d'altri tempi, con un po' di grana ...neppure troppo nitido, dai tratti morbidi e incerti, un po' graffiato e rovinato dal tempo, è un emozione unica.
Cercare di riprodurlo in digitale non è facile, anzi...esattamente l'opposto. Spesso si vedono dei BN smunti e "piatti" che nulla hanno a che vedere con quell'emozione di cui vi ho parlato; un susseguirsi di monotoni grigi senza neri profondi e bianchi brillanti...una noia terribile.
Nel mio lavoro di manipolazione digitale delle immagini sono alla costante ricerca di "ricette" per ottenere BN che ricordino le vecchie stampe analogiche (ah già....non scordiamoci la stampa that is not just a step ... actually!). Sometimes we can and sometimes not. Today
