magic and adventure series Terminator



After the success of the series Robin Hood, the BBC tries again launching another myth of the literature in a TV series on the fantasy genre-adventure, set in medieval England, from nuances of magic.
Merlin, thirteen episodes dedicated to the history of Merlin, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, designed by Julian Murphy and Johnny Caps.
The series will start telling the young Merlin forced to learn the art of magic hidden in a Camelot where magic is been banned.

The new fiction, for all families, launches three debutant actors (for them only brief appearances in other TV series) for the main roles: Merlin is played by Colin Morgan, Bradley James King Arthur and Guinevere by Angel Coulby .

you remember from the Man 6milioni dollars and the series was one of his spin-off?
The year was 1976 and the protagonists, Jamie Sommers (Lindsay Wagner) and Steve Austin (Lee Majors) often appeared together in either series to work on some difficult cases.




Ora la storia si ripete, anche se con delle differenze rispetto alla serie cult degli anni '80.
La protagonosta si chiama sempre Jaime Sommers, ma di professione barista. Ha una sorella minore di nome Becca ed un fidanzato, Will, docente universitario. Una sera, la vita di Jaime viene completamente sconvolta a causa di un incidente stradale in seguito del quale la ragazza perde entrambe le gambe ed il braccio destro.
Ma il fidanzato Will, uno scienziato che ha dedicato gli ultimi anni della sua vita alla ricerca inerente la ricostruzione bionica, decide di sottoporre Jaime ad una serie di interventi chirurgici e di innesti di componenti meccanici in grado di ricomporre gli arti e gli organi danneggiati.

Il nuovo show, che adesso veniva presentato con il titolo di Moonlight, vide la luce il 28 Settembre del 2007, alle 9.00pm. Quel pilot, tanto complicato da partorire, fece 8.62 mln di telespettatori.

La serie andrà in onda per la prima volta in Italia dal 31 ottobre 2008 sul canale a pagamento steel di Mediaset Premium. Anche se il 13 maggio 2008 la CBS ha annunciato che Moonlight è stato ufficialmente cancellato, perchè non ha trovato (annunciano loro) unemittente che voglia comprarne i diritti e portare avanti il progetto.
La prima serie sarà composta di 16 episodi.

Commento personale
Non ho ancora visto la serie, ma a parer mio si tratta dell'ennesimo seria in cui un vampiro sì re-inventa detective per sbarcare il lunario e/o per sopravvivere in un mondo che non può più considerare suo (vivendo assieme agli umani).
Dopo Angel (e prima ancora Buffy), c'è stato Blood Ties (di cui ho scritto un altro post) e prima ancora (parliamo addirittura del 1966) c'era Barnabas, protagonista della serie Dark Shadows (di cui certamente nessuno si ricorderà) ed ancora un'altro di cui io stessa a dire il vero nn ricordo il titolo :P (ma il vampirozzo bello e dannato me lo ricordo benissimo!). Il tema è conosciuto fin troppo bene ed il mito del vampiro attrae sempre una gran quantità di persone (Me included).

Ricostruito il suo volto e donatagli una nuova identità il rinato Michael Knight sarebbe diventato un uomo totalmente devoto alla legge, un cavaliere solitario pronto a proteggere chi avrebbe avuto bisogno del suo aiuto. Nella sua lotta viene affiancato dalla più tecnologicamente avanzata auto del mondo: K.I.T.T., la Knight Industries Two Thousand, un veicolo senziente dotato dei ritrovati più avanzati.



A oltre 20 anni di distanza arriva in Italia la nuova serie di Supercar, Knight Rider (che è il titolo con cui anche la vecchia serie era conosciuta in Usa).
La storia riparte a distanza di una generazione da dove era stata interrotta.
I personaggi sono ben introdotti, nel giro di pochi minuti sappiamo abbastanza e sappiamo che c’è anche molto altro da raccontare su ciascuno di loro (forse fin troppo).
Il vero punto di forza della storia è sicuramente KITT (che ora sta per Knight Industries Three Thousand), ottimo erede del vecchio KITT Two Thousand, sia nella tecnologia che nel carattere.
Arrogante, ingenuo e sensibile, gli riservano le battute ed i dialoghi migliori e Val Kilmer è una voce molto appropriata.
Se pensiamo che il vecchio KITT aveva poteri telecinetici ed otteneva inquadrature perfette senza far uso di alcun obiettivo, il nuovo KITT è forse addirittura più credibile (!) del suo predecessore: può fare cose almeno altrettanto tamarre, ma stavolta vengono fornite delle pseudo-spiegazioni per le sue capacità, compresa una sequenza che mostra l’attivazione del turbo boost e numerose inquadrature ravvicinate della sua carrozzeria auto-rigenerante.
Al volante c’è il figlio di Michael Knight, Mike Traceur.
L’inizio del suo rapporto con KITT è burrascoso quanto quello della prima coppia, ma con una variante: questa volta a board there is also a girl, Sarah, the daughter of KITT inventor.

We just have to watch this new series and see if the new KITT stands in comparison with its predecessor!

* In un episodio viene mostrato, in un flash-back, Whistler incontrare Blade quand'era un bambino. Questo contraddice quanto visto in Blade II, dove Whistler incontra Blade la prima volta quand'è un'adolescente.
* Blade dichiara nella serie che è stato lui a procurare la ferita alla gamba di Whistler. Questo contraddice quanto detto da Whistler nel primo film, which stated that they were vampires who killed her family to break the leg.
